The Addison Grove Austin, Texas Wedding | Austin Fine Art Film Wedding Photographer

Brooke + Clay had a long-anticipated wedding day! They booked me back in 2017 as their Austin Fine Art Film Wedding Photographer, so we had that whole time to really get every detail just perfect, and it shows! Two of my favorite details were that they incorporated their sweet “upper” in the wedding party (look at that flower necklace!!) and that since it was the Fourth of May, they incorporated their love of Star Wars! Such fun, personal touches!

From the bride…

“For our wedding, we really wanted to find a good balance between formal and informal. Clayton really wanted a “Texas-feel.” With him being military, so many of our guests had never even been to Texas before. It was important to him to show guests where we grew up and share that part of ourselves with everyone. I wanted all of those things, but I also wanted it to have a more formal, wedding feel to it. I think we struck a really good balance.

When we found our venue it just all came together to the perfect vibe we wanted. The stunning chandeliers in the barn really added that elegance I was looking for. We went for some elegant rentals and beautiful garden-style florals that really stood out in the barn and a good Texas-style bar-b-que. It was so us. And it was perfect.

Going through this process, and handling most of the planning myself, I have quite a bit of advice looking back. But I think my biggest piece of advice would be to have everything that you can plan for finished before the week of the wedding. There are going to be things that pop up, whether it be your phone blowing up with questions or inclement weather you have to work around. You want to be able to handle the things that you can’t plan for without them stressing you out. Anything you can do to remain as stress free as possible. And on that note, don’t stress about the weather! “

Brooke’s Review of KRP…

“I had already submitted a review of Kati after our engagement session over two years ago (because she was just THAT amazing). However, after our wedding I am even more thankful that I found her for our special day. She had never been to Texas before, let alone our venue, and it was really amazing to get to see her at work in a place that she had never even been before. Her eye is remarkable and she truly has such a natural talent for what she does.

I get teary eyed just looking at our sneak peak photos. I just can’t even believe that they are from our wedding day. They look like they are straight out of a wedding magazine! But Kati is more than a natural talent, she is just a pure joy to be around. I really wanted my vendors to be people good at what they do but also be people who I would genuinely want to be spending so much time with on such a big occasion. People who are kind, patient, good at communicating with others, and professional. That is definitely Kati. Kati is an amazing photographer but an even more amazing person. I feel honored that she was a part of this journey with us.”
