Legare Waring House Wedding with A Charleston Bride

Ana and Aaron had a simply amazing wedding in Charleston this last November! A Charleston Bride absolutely nailed their vision of a bohemian-inspired al fresco Legare Waring House Wedding. These two lovely people have quite a love story. See their wedding featured on Wedding Sparrow!

“A tall blonde doctor-in-training meets a strong, dark-haired resident physician. The makings of a hit medical TV show and also the beginning of our story. I was a third-year medical student and Aaron was a first-year internal medicine resident when we were assigned to work together in a small Staten Island clinic. Our relationship started off as a playful friendship. In between seeing patients, I would entertain him with my colorful stories about the latest holistic cleanse I was on. And he would laugh, salivating as he described the best steak dinner he had ever had.” (keep reading below)

“On the surface, we were so different. (an Arizona-raised, laid-back, hammock-and-garden-loving hippie meets a Montreal-born, financially-minded, intense carnivore). But at the core were striking similarities. We had been through similar experiences growing up. Which had instilled in us a strength and steadfast determination to grow, to pursue, and to succeed. Both of us were practical yet had experienced enough of life to believe that everything truly happens for a reason.

We’d traveled the world and, for a period of time, called foreign soil home. And valued honesty, support, and authentic love. After a few weeks, he asked if he could take me out to dinner at a local Indian restaurant. And of course, I said yes! (i mean great company and curry? who would turn that down?!). From that night, we were together every day and we quickly discovered that our bond was different from ones we had had in the past.”

“A year into our relationship I moved myself, 7 boxes of books, an assortment of plants, and a suitcase of clothes into his, no our, NYC basement apartment. The following two years were filled with so many wonderful memories. Including our engagement (it was simple and sweet in front of our closest NY friends on Thanksgiving). And the completion of our internal medicine training. New York had been so incredibly good to us but in 2016 we were ready for a new adventure.”

“After being together for 3 years, we took one of the biggest leaps of faith a couple can take and moved to two separate states. That’s right! Me in Charlotte, North Carolina, and him in Owensboro, Kentucky. We were embarking on new career paths and each wanted the other person to be where their career would flourish at that moment. And where they would feel appreciated and valued by their colleagues, even if that meant time apart. It has certainly been a wild adventure to be long-distance. And while it may have torn other couples apart, it has undoubtedly made us a better team. We love each other stronger and treasure the time together more now than ever before.”

A beautiful couple tie the knot in the perfect Legare Waring House Wedding.

“While we can’t wait to be under the same roof again (here’s looking at you 2019), in the meantime we have learned to savor every moment we have together including our biggest moment of all, our wedding day. And while every aspect of our wedding was special, looking back on that day the thing that stood out to us most was the sense of love and community that surrounded the event. Close friends and family came together from all over the world to celebrate the day with us and by the end of the night not only was our bond strengthened as husband and wife but so too were those that were formed between our guests who arrived as strangers and left as friends.”

“Aaron and I knew that Legare Waring House was the perfect choice of venue to host our small intimate wedding. It began the moment we saw the Spanish moss and giant oak trees that covered the grounds. It was everything we had pictured for our big day- soft, romantic, ethereal, and a little wild. And we wanted our wedding decor to further enhance that. We pulled from the shades around us to make the perfect neutral and green color palette. And worked with our team at A Charleston Bride to make sure that everything flowed together well. The end result was spectacular. And we couldn’t be happier with how things turned out!”
